Now she is serving as a senior Executive Board Member with one other woman in a board of 23 members to the 8000 plus members in one of the oldest Chambers of Pakistan.


Her forte is to initiate and organize events to advocate inclusive economic reforms. In Dec 2017 she helped RCCI organize ‘All Pakistan Women Chamber’s Presidents’ Summit’, where they sponsored Women Presidents from all over Pakistan who took part in consultative sessions for policy formulation that act as a barrier to women in trade and business. The recommendations of which were forwarded to the Government departments. The second one of series is in the process to be organized at the end of 2018.


Being representative of Women entrepreneurs she engages with the Government at various platforms and advocates gender balanced economic reforms. She has been actively engaged with the Ministry of Commerce in Consultative sessions on the new Strategic Trade Policy Framework 2018-2023, For the First time in Pakistan Women stakeholders like her took part in such sessions. She submitted a proposal to protect and promote the women owned commercial heritage of Pakistan, Ministry is looking into it with an intention to incorporate the viable aspects into the Trade policy. The other report ‘Preferential Treatment of Women in Trade’ that she wrote upon the Government’s request too was received very well among the business community.


She regularly organizes exhibitions for the women entrepreneurs at the chamber to create economic opportunities for the women to earn and excel. She organizes Motivational Events like ‘coffee mornings’ with successful women to share their success stories, and arranges Interactive consultative sessions with the ambassadors, dignitaries, Top CEOs, Public sector representatives for knowledge sharing. She has organized a number of Capacity building workshops for the women entrepreneurs. Among the many, she helped UNIDO to organize ‘Financing for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Technology Based Projects in Industry’ and organized USAID’s ‘Women Leadership in Trade Policy’. She looked after the Women Business Incubation Center Rawalpindi, She Judges Business plan competitions and also gets to speak at various forums as a motivational and keynote speaker on socio economic issues.


She passionately writes about different aspects of a women empowerment at UN Women, she wrote about an acid attack victim and in another article she highlighted the issue of the poor representation of women on the decision making tables Case of the missing 49%. She also writes about the barriers that women face in their economic advancement and accompanying components like mobility issues, issues of Cyber Security and women on boards.

Natalia Ponce de León



Natalia Ponce de León was the victim of an attack with a chemical agent on March 27, 2014. After surviving the attack and after multiple operations, Natalia made the decision that she wanted to dedicate her life to the defense and promotion of human rights for the victims of attacks with chemical agents. Therefore, in 2015, the foundation that bears her name was created to advise the victims on their rights. In 2016, Natalia pushed for the Natalia Ponce de León Law, which increased the penalties for crimes with chemical agents. Mrs. Ponce de León was chosen as one of the best leaders of 2016 by the Colombian magazine Semana and received the “Outlook Inspirations” prize awarded by the BBC, as an inspiring and courageous women. On March 29, 2017, she was one of 12 women chosen for fighting for human rights and received the “Women with Courage” award given by the First Lady of the United States.

As a young girl growing up in a family of three daughters, Soni Joshi was raised without any inkling of the gender disparity that was an inherent part of Nepalese tradition and culture. She was raised by parents who believed in the importance of educating their daughters and making them self-dependent.  It was only in the later years of her teens as she set out into the world that real life incidents and scenarios of discrimination against women turned her into an advocate for women’s rights and advancement. These incidences made her aware of the situations that her parents must have faced with only three daughters in the patriarchal stronghold of society. Their belief in their daughters is what set the foundation for her foray into the world of gender disparity.


The past two decades have seen her active involvement in the field of Women and Children’s Development with her association with a number of social development organizations all focused on issues of women and children‘s advancement.


Soni Joshi is the Past President of ASMAN (Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae) in Nepal. ASMAN is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization devoted to the cause of aiding and supporting under-privileged Nepalese women and children. The organization’s work and commitment encompasses support in the areas of Education, Health, Environment, Cultural Awareness and Development.


As the first Nepali woman to become President of AWON (Active Women of Nepal) formerly known as the American Women of Nepal she created a benchmark in the history of the organization. She has  served as the Secretary of the organization and the Chair of the Violence Against Women Committee ,she has been  leading the United Nations Committee till date and currently  is also serving as the District 25 Co-Chair for the Advocacy Committee 2018 to 2020 which includes  Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Nepal .


In her role as a Board Director of reputed educational institutions (both primary levels to higher level education) she is amongst a group working to bring about a change to the conventional method of teaching in the country. She is a strong advocate for the education of the girl child. 


She has served as the President of CHETANA (Center for Health, Education, Training and National Advocacy) which has as its special focus the plight of the differently abled women and girl child. With a personal family incidence and experience of a differently abled person, she is actively involved with organizations working for the betterment of these differently abled. She is on the Advisory Board of SUNGAVA an organization for Girl’s with Down’s syndrome.

In 2018, she was appointed as a Special Envoy to UN Women Gambia with an accepted NGO/CSO Dossier for Rural Women’s Maternal Healthcare Access and offers solutions for our elders to be able to age-in-place, through her efforts as a member of The Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People.

She is the 2019 US Representative for the International Model UN Association and the newest member to the International Human Rights Commission in Geneva where she serves unrecognized Sovereign Tribes, undocumented International Cultures, Stateless, Landless and countless oppressed and displaced Indigenous People around the world.

Fusena Aziz


Fusena Aziz is a Gender and Domestic Abuse Advocate from Ghana, West Africa. She is Co-founder and Executive Director of Fusaid Global, a non-profit organisation focused on Women’s Development Issues and advocates majorly against gender-based violence.


She, having served as the Women’s Commissioner of the Students’ Representative Council of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, she developed an interest in women’s development issues which led to her setting-up of her organization, Fusaid Global.


Fusena Aziz has represented the organization on various platforms, advocating against gender-based violence and encouraging effective communications in this regard. She is a change-maker contributing towards growth and development of women and children.


Fusena Aziz believes all women can achieve and even do more with the right opportunities and support systems in place. Her long-term goal is to through Fusaid Global, establish a Vocational Training Centre as well as Victims’ Support Unit to support victims of abuses from various parts of the world.
